Radiant Floor Heating And Solar Water Heating Panels: A Natural Combination

floor heating can be an ideal way to heat your home. When you couple this with the benefits of solar water heating panels, it gets even better. If your goal is to heat your home economically as well as the most natural method for heating your home, this could be the perfect choice. Understanding how under floor heating works with solar power is essential, though. The combination can be a powerful tool to you and your home.

What Is This Type Of Heating

Radiant floor heating takes advantage of the way that heat moves. In a traditional furnace, for example, the warmest area of a room is that of the ceiling. Because heat is moving up and all throughout the room, the floor and the areas closest to the floor stay cold. With radiant floor heating, on the other hand, the heat is generated at the floor so that it can move up, into the room, evenly distributing the heat and using it to an optimal standard.

In this type of heating, there are coils of piping laid under a layer of cement which allows for water to move through them. The water comes from a heating device that sends the hot water throughout the coils and then back into the heater so that it can be fully heated and then reused again for the same process. The home, at this time, feels warm and comfortable because the heat has been passed through the cement slab and into the home.

Solar Water Heating Panels

The only question is with radiant floor heating is how you will heat the water. Of course you could use more conventional methods for heating, consider what benefits there will be if you use solar water heating panels instead. Now, you’ve added the benefits of being able to move water that has been heated with solar, or with the sun’s heat. These panels store and then transfer the energy from the sun into a useable solution for heating the water that is then piped throughout the home to heat the home. It really is just that simple.

How To Make It Work

In order to get the most benefit from radiant floor heating done with solar water heating panels, there are some things you should take into consideration. For example, you should make sure that the building has an unobstructed solar range to allow for enough solar energy to get to the location. In addition, the north walls and roof should be fully insulated. The south facing roof and sides should be the most adventitious and therefore used as for domestic hot water uses.

When professionally installed and well planned the use of solar water heating panels can be an ideal solution for heating, or cooling, a home. There is little need for other fuels and the costs of using solar are a bare minimum. In addition, it is completely clean burning and therefore you take full advantage of what natural elements are available to you. Radiant floor heating is an ideal solution for home (or other building) heating.
